6-15-09 Great start! Took out the new boat by myself to finish the break in period on the engine. It was overcast and drizzly but I needed to get it done for a scheduled appointment at New Meadows Marine. The seas were flat and I brought a couple of rods to see what was happening. I started to dub around casting a pink Hogey on my custom 7' rod without seeing a fish and decided to try a new spot. The first cast I get a take and there is a large boil followed by a screaming drag, I was on a nice fish and the boat was getting towed around. 20 minutes later I "lip" with my whole hand (instead of my thumb), a 46" striper. Best fish I've boated in a while. Picked up 3 more decent fish of 34", 28", and a 21". Very good start to the new season and a great way to break in the new vessel. Too bad I was by myself as I had to take a picture of the big girl on the deck before I released her.
