7-11-08 Everything was perfect but.........

I met John and his daughter and son at 0430 at Ferry Beach. Absolutely beautiful morning with clear skies and glass flat seas. Saw an awesome sunrise as we traveled to a previously productive area. As we were arriving, I spot pogies flipping on the surface. We stop to snag a few to put in the bank and had fun doing it. The crew picked up the snagging technique quickly as John hit some macks on the light "Hollywood rod". All three were experienced fishermen and did well casting to perfect locations along the rocks. We just did not see any stripers. We traveled to multiple locations during optimum times in the tide but just did not see a thing. All three worked hard and we covered alot of territory but couldn't buy a fish even with live bait in my secret "clowns mouth" spot. Great weather,great seas,and a great crew ,just no fish.
